Terms of Service
Last updated: May 13, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Cal Coast Water Damage website (calcoastwaterdamage.com) and the educational sister property Mold Help SD (moldhelpsd.com). By using these sites, you agree to these Terms.
1. About Cal Coast
Cal Coast Water Damage is operated by Cal Coast San Diego LLC, a California limited liability company. We provide water damage restoration, mold remediation, sewage cleanup, storm damage repair, and related restoration services throughout San Diego County.
2. Service Agreements
When you engage Cal Coast for paid restoration services, you and Cal Coast enter into a separate Work Authorization Agreement that governs that specific job. This website's Terms of Service do not replace that agreement; they govern your use of the website itself.
3. Information and Tools on This Site
Cal Coast provides free informational tools on this site including the cost estimator, property risk score, insurance coverage calculator, claim letter generator, and AI chatbot. These are provided "as is" for informational purposes only. They do not:
- Constitute legal, financial, insurance, medical, or professional advice
- Guarantee any specific outcome or cost
- Replace professional inspection by a licensed contractor
- Establish a contractor-client relationship until a written Work Authorization is signed
4. Insurance Claim Information
Cal Coast assists customers with insurance claims as part of restoration services. We are not insurance agents, brokers, or attorneys. Insurance claim outcomes depend on your specific policy, carrier, and the facts of your loss. Past results do not guarantee future outcomes.
5. AI Chatbot and Knowledge Base
Our AI chatbot (powered by Anthropic Claude) provides general restoration information. The chatbot's responses are not a substitute for inspection by a certified professional. For emergencies, always call 619-320-2700 directly.
Our published knowledge base (at /data/knowledge.md) is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC-BY-4.0). You may use, share, and adapt it with attribution.
6. Photos and Submissions
If you submit photos, descriptions, or other materials through our forms or chatbot, you grant Cal Coast a non-exclusive license to use them for the purpose of providing services to you. We do not publish customer photos without consent. See our Privacy Policy for details.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by California law, Cal Coast's total liability arising from your use of this website is limited to $100. This limit does not apply to claims arising from a separate signed Work Authorization Agreement.
We make no warranty that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.
8. Third-Party Services
This site uses third-party services including Google Analytics, Formspree (form submission), Calendly (scheduling), Anthropic (AI chat), and Vercel (serverless hosting). Their terms and privacy policies apply when you interact with their services.
9. Trademark and Intellectual Property
